Samsung Rogue U960

samsung rogue

The mobile is covered by a bezel of gunmetal with the normal buttons in their respective places with the voice command, camera, speaker and the screen lock buttons to the right corner of the screen and no buttons are preen tot the left, top or bottom sides. The classic phone features a QWERTY keyboard having four rows which makes emailing and texting easy and you have a touch screen below.

The buttons at the front face have superb texture and feel with the back key feeling utterly solid. The screen is an input device with a semi-rigid touch that responds quickly and accurately on Web pages where small links are grouped closely together. The pictures and text are crisp and clear, but the hues looked strangely flashy and the color temperature of the screen is Off.

The secondary and primary colors are visible as neon and the white backgrounds have a tinge of blue to them. The complete feel of the mobile is perfect. The screen slides smoothly and left side makes the phone less firm. The bottom and top of the phone has a rubberized finish but the battery cover has a carbon mesh which makes the phone a bit slippery when held in your hand.

samsung rogue
Samsung utilizes an authorized input jack for data transfer and charging. A headphone jack of 3.5mm is also available. The microSD card fails to keep the lock in place which makes the task of removing the card slightly difficult without using tweezers or a pen. The mobile featuring a fantastic interface for playing your favorite music, well-stocked V Cast store and a wealth of streaming videos that are free, may easily replace an iPod without any problems except the ‘Touch’ feature.

Headphones are essential in this cell phone to listen to music for high audio quality and a speaker which is internal can be accurately serviced for streaming videos and for conversations. You may not get the signal in school buildings and in concrete offices
. Otherwise, the phone offers amazing service. The feel of the face buttons are splendid. The feature of ‘No-look touchscreen dialing’ is made easier with the ‘Digital Dial Readout’ which performs the task of calling the numbers back once you dial.

You have the choice of setting your own homepages with the browser of ‘Verizon.’ The time it takes is seven seconds. ‘The homepage, ‘Digital Trends’ takes 16 seconds for loading, with the optimization of the layout being done for the display of the phone which exhibits the 3G network’s speed admirably. The camera has a resolution of 3 Mega pixels and can shoot plenty of detail. But the display colors are not correct and you have very few options to adjust the contrast and brightness.

The standard battery lifetime of the Rogue is 282 minutes. You can use the phone for nearly five hours while doing email, instant messaging, Web surfing etc. The extended battery lifetime is 456 minutes. In conclusion, the Rogue is a classic phone with a marvelous music player on-board and the convenient keyboard. The Rogue is offered with a contract for 2 years at a price of $100. The Rogue can be termed as one of the best phones at the entry level with very few drawbacks.

Help You To Purchase The Best IPhone

iphone

Edsel. New Coke. Apple Ipod? Reviews of Apple's much-hyped new gizmo have suggested that this just might be one of the most hated products in American history, just like the car Edsel (named after a draft-dodging member of the Ford family) and New Coke (which tasted just like Pepsi). However hated, the iPhone has still made an incredible amount of money for Apple. Apparently, people are curious about just how bad a cell phone can be.

Does It Blend Well With Others?

One of the most popular viral videos since the iPhone's much-hyped 2007 release is that of a blender seller sticking in an iPhone and turning on the machine. This was to show off the strength of the blender, but also seemed to be a more than cutting Apple iPhone review by the blender seller. The fact that the video went viral and became so popular (more so than the blender it sells, the Blendtec) means that many others seemed to agree with this particular Apple iPhone review.

Sorry, Steve Jobs

Although you could go to a high tech website such as CNet.com to read geek's Apple iPhone reviews, they sometimes are a bit difficult to understand with all of the jargon and techno-babble. If you want to know what an iPhone is like, you need to read Apple iPhone reviews written by the average person. You can find them practically anywhere online by just typing "Apple iPhone review" into your favorite search engine.

This review can be found on Helium.com written by Cara Volle. It begins, "Sorry, Steve Jobs, but I hate your effing iPhone..." That's about all I can reprint here. Although not exactly Pulitzer Prize winning material, that does give you an indication about how good a gizmo an iPhone is.

Complaints about the iPhone from others have ranged from its choice of AT&T as network provider to the cost. The picture quality of its camera is said to be pretty disappointing and streamlining video still has a lot of bugs to work out. There's also a disturbing trend for the iPhone to get physically very hot when in use. Computer security specialists have also found ways to hack into an iPhone - and if they can do it, so can cyber criminals.

Whenever a new techie toy appears, there are bound to be bugs that only customers can find. You need to wait for at least a year after their release for these bugs to be resolved somehow.

Learning How To Make A Telephone Conference Call

Author: Douglas M. Parks

Making a telephone conference call can be easy enough, as long as you are a bit knowledgeable and understand how to go about it. If you are interested in learning how to make a conference call phone, you will find the following information very helpful. Find a Provider If you want to make a telephone conference call the first thing you are going to need to do is search for a conference call provider. There are quite a few of these available, so take a bit of time to learn about each and then decide on the one that is going to be most suitable for you.
Just make sure that the telephone conference call provider you choose offers the features and reliability that you are looking for, and you will also have to decide if you want to use a toll free number or if you are going to want the involved participants to pay for long distance charges. This is up to you, but these are all things that you are going to have to figure out before you can make any telephone conference call. Once you have a service provider, you can invite the necessary participants, and let them know when the conference call is scheduled for. The best idea is to send invitations early in advance, so that everyone invited can make sure to fit the time in for the conference call. The last thing you want is to give everyone too short of notice and not have anyone make the conference call.
Make sure that you provide all the invited participants with the date and time of the meeting, and instruct them all to dial the specific telephone number that you have chosen. Enter the conference code information, and then at the time that you have specified on the invitation, everyone should dial and access the telephone number.
Sounds easy enough? It really is, as long as you follow these few simple steps. When prompted the participants will need to enter their given conference call number, and then once everyone has joined you can all begin talking. A telephone conference call can be used for many different purposes, but most commonly it is used in business settings where employees from all over the world are required to get together for a meeting, but cannot make it. This allows everyone to get their piece of mind in and have a sort of telecommute meeting.

How To Track a Cell Phone

Author: kdieis

Tracing phone numbers sounds like something the FBI does to find a criminal but the reality is that if you have a phone number you can trace that telephone number and find out the details of who owns it by using one of the internet's many reverse phone lookup services.
How can I trace a cell phone number is a different story however! The ease of tracing phone numbers for non-cell phones comes down to the fact that the information on these types of numbers are freely available to anyone that asks for them because they are a part of the public domain and therefore anyone who wants to compile a database of people and their associated phone numbers (like the yellow pages) can do so. Using this database it is simple to match a number to a name and get the answer back.Click to Get Best Reverse Cell Phone Lookup Service
Cell phone numbers are not public domain.
Cell phone or mobile phone numbers are not available to the public for free as they are private numbers and therefore no central authority exists to collate them and distribute them. So how can I trace a cell phone number if this is the case? How do I track down that harassing caller? How do I discover who my husband or wife can been calling so often? How do I find out the owner of that number!
The answer comes from entrepreneurial companies who have purchased cell phone numbers and their details (legally) from private databases and compiled them into their own super database from which you can do a reverse phone lookup with a high degree of accuracy!

Virtual Private Network at Your Benefits

Author: Jhon Phill

"A VPN is a generic term that describes any combination of technologies that can be used to secure a connection through an otherwise unsecured or untrusted network."

Virtual private network (VPN) is a network that uses a public telecommunication infrastructure, such as the Internet, to provide remote offices or individual users with secure access to their organization's network. A virtual private network can be contrasted with an expensive system of owned or leased lines that can only be used by one organization.

A VPN enables you to send data between two computers across a shared or public inter network in a manner that emulates the properties of a point-to-point private link. The act of configuring and creating a virtual private network is known as virtual private networking. Packets that are intercepted on the shared or public network are indecipherable without the encryption keys. The portion of the connection in which the private data is encapsulated is known as the tunnel. The portion of the connection in which the private data is encrypted is known as the virtual private network (VPN) connection. Two kinds of Virtual Private Networking in banking:

• Site to site VPN

• Remote Access VPN

Let's talk about it in detail a little later. VPNs provide a more active form of security by either encrypting or encapsulating data for transmission through an unsecured network. These two types of security-encryption and encapsulation form the foundation of virtual private networking. However, both encryption and encapsulation are generic terms that describe a function that can be performed by a myriad of specific technologies. To add to the confusion, these two sets of technologies can be combined in different implementation topologies. Thus, VPNs can vary widely from vendor to vendor.
You can opt for two types of VPN, Remote access vpn and site to site vpn. In case of a remote access vpn, their staff is regularly working in locations outside the office.Use pcs at home, to connect onto office network over dial up phone/isd lines or over broad band too. While a site to site vpn offers secure connection between locations across the open internet. By doing this, companies can save a great deal of money. As they make use of domestic broadband rather than leased lines which is expensive. With Virtual Private Network , you get nothing less than these: Improve your security, reduce over all operational costs as against the traditional WAN. Also have extended geographical connectivity, improve productivity. Try, it out for the success of your business.

What is VoIP? (Is It Right For You?)

Author: Jonathon Mourcella

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is also known as Internet Telephony or IP Telephony. Nice names, but what is VoIP? VoIP technology allows someone to make a phone call over their broadband internet connection rather than with a traditional telephone system. With VoIP you don’t even need a handset, just your computer and the internet.

VoIP ADVANTAGES

Save Money – Using VoIP can save you around 30-40% on local calls and up to 90% on international calls. Unlike the traditional phone line where you can pay by the minute for some phone calls, VoIP relies only on your internet connection. This means that your monthly internet account which is fixed is your only cost for VoIP regardless how many calls you make.

More than Just Voice - VoIP is not just restricted to voice-to-voice exchanges but also allows the caller to transfer pictures, video, text and other files along with the voice. So next time you’re talking to a loved one half way across the world you can send them the video from Christmas.

Multiple Users - Unlike the traditional telephone setup where the call is restricted to two people (the caller & receiver) VoIP allows for conference calls of multiple people to be conducted in real time.

Available from Wireless Networks – VoIP is not limited to fixed line broadband connections but also with wireless connections making it extremely more flexible than the traditional telephone.

The fact that with a laptop VoIP can act as a mobile phone, now think of the MONEY you are SAVING!

Easy to use and Affordable Hardware & Software - Besides the internet and your computer, all you need to use VoIP are speakers, a sound card and a microphone. You can even download various software packages off the net which will get VoIP up and running. These include Net2Phone and Skype .

VoIP DISADVANTAGES

Security – Security is one of the main disadvantages of VoIP. The security threats associated with VoIP include, viruses and malware, identity/details theft (through eavesdropping), spamming, call tampering, phishing threats and denial of service.

Voice Quality – The level of voice quality on VoIP is down to your service provider, this is known as QoS (Quality of Service). Poor service providers can mean users experience, delay, noise interference or echo’s. Poor internet connections can also cause these issues. VoIP is a bit behind the conventional telephone in this department but continued advancements in the technology is closing the gap all the time.

Internet Connection – If your internet connection is slow or unreliable then VoIP is probably not for you. The VoIP experience is heavily dependent on your broadband internet connection. Also be aware that VoIP is highly reliant on bandwidth so those with shared connections and transfer limits need to be well aware of how a VoIP service will affect their situation.

Emergency Numbers – VoIP service providers are not legally bound to offer emergency phone calls. While some do offer this service, many do not so you will need to find one who does.

As you can see, the decision to transfer over to VoIP is not just about saving money (which is what the VoIP providers want you to think because you will probably save plenty). The decision is more complex than that and security, reliability and quality issues need to be understood and evaluated before you make the decision that is best for you.

GETTING STARTED WITH VoIP

Here is a guide to give you an answer to the question - "how does VoIP work?". You will also get an understanding of not only how it works, but what you need to get VoIP up and running and how to find the best solution for your needs.

INTERNET CONNECTION

First and foremost you need a fast, reliable internet connection with good bandwidth. The absolute minimum you need is ISDN (up to 128kbps). This is not recommended, but if you use it purely for VoIP (without other interne using programs in the background) you should be able to get away with it. Wireless connections are usually suitable if you are on a single user network. Multiple users and a home or business network can cause substantial fluctuations in bandwidth that may cause problems with VoIP but usually a wireless broadband connection is sufficient. Be aware however on the download limits as wireless is never unlimited and going over your limit can be extremely expensive. ADSL, LAN, and Cable connections are more than enough for VoIP and with strong connections you will almost never have a problem. The advantage wireless has over these connections is mobility. If mobility is not a requirement of your VoIP connection then these internet connections are highly recommended.Go to http://www.speedtest.net if you need to check your current connections speed.

CHOOSE VoIP SERVICE YOU REQUIRE

The right VoIP service provider is extremely important. A VoIP service provider allows you to place and receive calls. These are the different types of VoIP services available. Mobile VoIP Services Mobile VoIP is a new industry in relation to VoIP. This as the name suggests enables users to make VoIP calls from their mobile phones. Mobile VoIP uses your mobile phones internet connection so a data plan is required (do not exceed this) and you must be in an area where your wireless internet (on your mobile) can be accessed. If you cannot access the internet your calls will be charged at your plans traditional GSM network rates (regular mobile calls without the use of VoIP). To Use a mobile VoIP you need a compatible phone, a regular phone with internet access is not enough. You can install a softphone onto your IP compatible phone of PDA and make free calls to people with the same service. Skype’s communication service has over 350 million registered users and is the most popular voice communication service in the world and includes a softphone in their service. Skype is the recommended way to go if you want to get into Mobile VoIP. Subscription / Hardware dependent Services The subscription/hardware option is the most popular and relative option for household situations. Upon subscription you receive an ATA phone adaptor which you connect to your broadband and your regular phone. It works like your normal phone but passes through the ATA. This option is the least different from our traditional phone setup and is the most widely used for residential and small business users. You do not need your PC to utilize VoIP with this set up. Users need to do their homework though when it comes to selecting a service provider. Many service providers have limited calling destinations available so make sure whoever you choose allows you to call those who you require the service for most. Software Based VoIP Service Providers A software based service is the most popular VoIP option in the world. The software based option is available to everyone in any country as long as you have the required PC/Internet requirements. Software based VoIP services are usually free as they involved PC to PC connection, so as long as you have that covered all you need is a softphone and your set. While calls between PC users with the same service is free, calls to mobiles and traditional phones are charged, so be aware! While it is quick, easy and cost effective, software based VoIP is commonly plagued by poor voice quality and security threats such as viruses and spamming.

Business VoIP Services

VoIP is becoming increasingly popular in small business as a standalone set up and compliment to the traditional phone set up. Using VoIP in a business can reduce communication cost and increase the functionality of their communications network, allowing for streamlined video conferencing and data/fax transfer.

Recommended VoIP systems for small business are the Avaya one-X Quick Edition G11 PSTN Gateway (low cost, supports up to 40 users, easy to deploy and manage and can be used over an existing network) and the Nortel BCM 50 Main Unit (Supports up to 50 users, has both IP and digital phones, solid and reliable, good for high level use).

Device Based VoIP Solutions Device based VoIP solutions are great because you pay for the hardware and pretty much nothing else. The set up works off an existing phone and is great for users who don’t want monthly bills. The device also works from other phones giving the user mobility. Prospective users need to be aware that the devices need a traditional phone line and some devices require a PC to work while others don’t and some companies are much higher than others, so check the details first.

There are three main device suppliers in the market today. The Ooma Core VoIP Phone System(No monthly bills and under $250, great reliability, a quality product). MajicJack (Low cost, under $40 but annual fee). PhoneGnome (The oldest supplier but still a market leader and highly recommended. Much like Ooma but about 75% cheaper). CHOOSE A VoIP SERVICE PROVIDER There are many VoIP service providers out there and when selecting one you should consider a number of factors. These include.

The Cost – The initial start up cost can be misleading. Check with the provider if there are any additional costs for the service or hardware, do you own the hardware or is it rented and needs to be returned on termination of the contract. Also check the call rates as these can vary greatly between service providers.

Support – Support is an important consideration because as with most ongoing technology and communication relationships issues are likely to arise. Make sure their support department is easily accessible, has quick response times and covers both service and hardware issues. The closer you are geographically to the company the better so check for local providers as well as the largest players on the internet. If your decision comes down to two, go with the provider who is geographically closer.

Contracts – Be aware of the length of the contract and early termination fees. There is nothing worse than trying to get out of an unsatisfactory contract early and finding out that it will cost you more than seeing out the contract. Emergency Calls – VoIP service providers are not legally obliged to support free emergency calls so check with the provider about their emergency number support and make sure they are clear and honest in their answer, as this factor can mean much more than costs – especially if you have children.

Upgrading – As with Internet service providers, the ability to upgrade as new technology becomes available or move between plans is important. Your usage may change seasonally so you should have flexibility in moving to a higher usage plan as you need and then downgrading when it best suits your needs.

Compatibility With Existing Phones – IP phones can be very expensive so it might be financially beneficial to run a VoIP service through your existing phones. If this may be beneficial to your situation check with the service provider to make sure this is possible.

Existing Phone Numbers – For many people or businesses, the need to keep their existing number is paramount. Many service providers have different allowances when it comes to this consideration so check with them first. Inability to do so can cause many problems, especially if you’ve spent good many switching to VoIP only to find out your in serious trouble because your old number doesn’t work and you’ve just wasted thousands on a new advertising campaign that launched yesterday. In reality, most VoIP will be able to transfer your number over but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Switching numbers from one VoIP service provider to another is another story all together and can be a real hassle.

The Service Providers Stability/Reliability – As with the early days of the internet boom where many smaller ISP’s seemed to set up over night and then disappear in a matter of months leaving many subscribers out in the cold, the same as happened with a number of VoIP service providers. Make sure the service provider you join has been around a while and guarantees their service or your contract is void.

The Actual Service – Make sure the company supplies all the features and services you require. From the international calling destinations, fax/video conferencing services, caller ID, voice mail, call transferring, call waiting etc. Talk to other users if you can or read independent reviews on the net to gather the best information you can.

SETTING UP A VoIP SYSTEM Setting up a basic VoIP system in your home or on your PC is usually quite simple (Business setups can be much more complicated and may require professionals). The service comes with easy to follow instructions (most of the time). Hardware based VoIP systems is basically just a matter of plugging in your ATA to your internet router and your telephone into the ATA. Configuration settings are usually downloadable or contained in the accompanying software and at most a quick email or phone call to support is required.

Software based VoIP systems are again quite elementary. Just install the software after placing the disc into your drive or after downloading the software onto your PC. Then all you need to do is create and register a user name and/or account, purchase credit (if required) and off you go.

Iphone With GPS Features

Author: Clifford S. Magno

Of course, you will expect your new iPhone to have a GPS, as most of the smartphones on the market do have one, and you can ask yourself why Apple didn't want to add this feature when designing the iPhone. You might think that it's actually a requirement for some cellphones to have a GPS, but you're quite mistaken. The only requirement is that it should be possible to locate you somehow, with the help of calling 911 for example, but a GPS in itself is not a requirement. And there's no use in meditating on Apple's possible reasons for not incorporating this otherwise quite essential featue of GPS on their iPhone. How Can You Get GPS? Before the original release of iPhone, a GPS was obviously expected by at least the close community following Apple's moves. As it was clear that iPhone had a bluetooth connectivity, one can fantasize about getting a GPS bluetooth receiver and connecting this to the iPhone, then getting the suitable GPS software, and all the problems will be solved. However, as it turned out, a GPS bluetooth receiver cannot be connected to the iPhone, moreover there is no suitable and working software.
Apple products are not traditionally compatible with just any products. Without the additional lack of support from Apple for third party-application, solving the problem of GPS on an iPhone seemed to be and can still seem an insurmounatble problem. Of course, there is GoogleMaps you can use to a limited extent only where you can find wireless internet, so obviously not everywhere.
Navizon GPS On Iphone In 2007 September, Navizon eventually released a virtual GPS navigation system on iPhones, which, relies on Wi-fi and cellular tower triangulation, and is basically a peer to peer system in which users in possession of the software can contribute data. Although some assert that this kind of localization cannot be as accurate as a real GPS receiver, this is as good as it can get under such circumstances.
Navizon also allows for an initial 15-day trial period, during which users can experiment with the software and if they find it useful they can get GPS for their iPhones for less than $25. The firmware version 1.1.1. update reportedly rendered the software useless. However, a new version was released, and users can also get a scaled down version of this iPhone GPS for free.
Apple is reportedly planning to include GPS in their second generation of iPhones to be released sometime in 2008, having realized that they should have incldued this in the first version as well or having designed a suitable software by now. By all means, we should just hope that the long-awaited 3G iPhones will really have GPS.
